Spent three hours on this game today. Got up to level 5.
I'm not sure if that's a decent turnover; in fact, I'm pretty sure it isn't, but it's an improvement, at any rate.
I went back up to the place where we first started the game, and completed the "easy" quests. I notice that I'm definitely getting more efficient at questing: the best way to do it is to collect all the quests you see, and then you can finish many of them at once. This might sound obvious to the seasoned MMORPGer.
It's possible to get better at this type of game; I think the experience definitely helps. As I play more, I notice that the game is more enjoyable, and I spent an hour more in the lab than I had expected to. Also, that might be because everything's so objective-based: the quests themselves, and right now, trying to reach a certain level. I mean, even if you aren't playing this game for an English class, which, I strongly suspect that the majority of the Warhammer population isn't, there's this drive to reach the next level: to become stronger, learn new skills. I can definitely see why it's easy to get addicted.
Another cool thing is that now that I'm level 5, I have an attack that's actually effective. Before, battles would take forever because I was shaving off my opponents' life points bit by bit. Now, I can kill them off a lot faster, and it's quite satisfying.
All of the other people in the lab at the time were programming things, and I felt bad for them/mildly sheepish.
