Today went well over all. We accomplished a lot of different goals and started some interesting parts of our experiment. We began by doing some interviews with WAR players and moderated "addiction counseling." I did my best to corner a certain player I found and got some intriguing information from him (I guess I just assumed it was a him). When I asked "Blumonkey" what he would be doing with his time if he wasn't playing WAR. His response was "working or playing with my 3 yr old daughter." I guess I found that a little strange, but he clarified that he didn't think WAR ever took time away from his job or child.
I got to level 7 during an organized competition between our Order team and our Destruction team, which was fun. It gave us a glimmer of understanding in terms of which team had better mastered their characters (we won the competition), although there was definitely more we could have done. After a mildly successful peace protest, we started a "Fight Club," which proved to be more popular than a peace protest, since we had a couple of non-group members who came down to partake...I even got to duel one of them. The Fight Club was especially interesting because it's a scenario (1 v. 1) that's readily available in WoW, but which I haven't seen easy access to in WAR thus far. Regardless, we were creating a situation in which other players in the game could step outside of the traditional WAR gameplay construct and try something fun. Below is a shot of our Fight Club circle.
