[TiLt] is an experiment in the MMORPG Warhammer Online, carried out by members of Aden Evens' Digital Game Studies class at Dartmouth College.
Short for "Tiltfactor", a soon-to-be-established gaming lab at Dartmouth, members of [TiLt] seeks to explore and experiment with Warhammer while simultaneously documenting their own connections to it. They hope to learn something about Game addiction, gold farming, digital sociology, multiplayer team dynamics, hallucinatory ethics and even the philosophy of alternate realities!
Will the team be able to quit at the end of the term? Will they actually learn anything? Will anyone listen if they do? Are massivley multiplayer experiences heading in the right direction, and if not, how can we improve them? There are forty million people playing MMORPG's and yet no one bothers to ask: why? how? who?
